Position Overview

Manages automotive servicing operations of a departmental garage, and is responsible for the dispatching of the

personnel, motor vehicles and equipment assigned to a large garage; performs related work.

• Manages the storage and minor repairs of motor vehicles and mobile equipment used by a department;may manage major repairs.
• Manages the assignment and training of a large number of persons engaged in motor vehicle operation,
• storage, maintenance and repairs, and in related record keeping.
• Schedules or supervises the scheduling of subordinate personnel in servicing, repairing, and storingautomotive vehicles.
• Acts as a transportation specialist within the department and assists a departmental engineer indeveloping policies and procedures in relation to motor vehicle and mobile equipment activities.
• Reviews the use of motor vehicles and equipment by the different department divisions to determineefficient schedules, storage, servicing and proper staffing of facilities and garage personnel.
• Supervises the investigation of complaints relating to motor vehicle servicing, dispatching or repairs.
• Supervises the keeping of records relating to motor vehicles and mobile equipment, and initiates orreviews requisitions for needed supplies and automotive servicing equipment.
• Drafts specifications and deals with vendors for the purchase, repair, or modification of equipment.
• Oversees the maintenance of garage facilities ensuring they are in clean and safe condition, withattention to the provision and operating condition of required fire safeguards.
• Investigates accidents in which assigned vehicles have been involved. Prepares and reviews accidentreports.
• Dispatch and routes or supervises the dispatching and routing of vehicles of a department as appropriate.
• Instructs employees in the operation of specialized motor equipment such as wreckers and heavy trucksor schedules such instruction with departmental trainers as appropriate.
• Reviews all event requisition forms.
• Coordinates all event set-ups and deliveries with the Marketing and Sales Departments.
• Coordinates transportation of executive staff.
• Coordinates the distribution of Holiday Items.
• Coordinates the delivery & pick up of medical records.
• Coordinates the delivery and pick up of computers for the IT Department.
• Coordinates deliveries for the mailroom.
• Prepares Transportation Department budget.
• Orders new vehicles.
• Oversees vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Approves repair payments.
• Provides delivery support to all MetroPlusHealth Departments as needed. Coordinates the delivery of marketing collateral and promotional items to H H facilities andMetroPlusHealth community offices.
• Reviews and approves vehicle fuel charges.
• Reviews monthly Transportation Department leads report and makes any recommendations or commentsas needed.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Seven years of full-time experience in motor vehicle dispatching and high-level logistics in transportation matters, 3 years of which must have been in a large garage.
