Antelope is Hiring a Remote Transportation Manager (Remote)

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Manager to join our Operations Team!. As the Transportation Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the transportation operations to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of our products to our valued customers.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire transportation process to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of our product.

  • Prepare and manage the transportation budget, monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

  • Lead and develop a team of transportation professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to enhance their skills and productivity.

  • Manage and optimize transportation routes, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.

  • Develop and implement transportation strategies and policies to meet business objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation service providers, carriers, and freight forwarders to ensure competitive rates and service quality.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies for the transportation department, including insurance coverage for goods in transit, and contingency plans for natural disasters or other unforeseen disruptions.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, warehouse, and procurement, to coordinate and streamline transportation activities and notify of any delivery problems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement initiatives for supply chain optimization and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and analyze transportation performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and carrier performance, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Resolve transportation-related issues, including delivery delays, damages, returns, and customer complaints, in a timely and effective manner.

  • Integrate sustainability measures into transportation activities, such as exploring fuel-efficient or electric options and working towards reducing the carbon footprint. 

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and transportation best practices to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.

    • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work occasional evenings or weekends as required.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation management, preferably with start-up and/or CPG exposure.

    • Proven experience as a Transportation Manager or similar role in CPG.

    • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance, and safety standards.

    • Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant software application.

    • Process oriented with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

    • Strong sense of urgency and time management skills; ability to work within deadlines on multiple projects and competing priorities.

    • Comfortable in ambiguous situations; ability to figure things out quickly and make decisions without all the facts.

    • Quick learner with a knack for analyzing and solving problems in out of the box ways.

    • Must love dogs or cats (& treats!).
