PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENINGS: Brenau University will conduct criminal background checks on all persons being considered for initial employment. In some circumstances, an FBI fingerprint report may be necessary to satisfy the requirement. Once employed, employees must hold and continue to maintain a favorable criminal history background. Random background checks are performed. Credit checks may be performed on candidates/employees who are selected for a position that regularly engages in handling credit cards or other company monies. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) may be performed during the hiring process, or as part of a random check. MVR checks are required to meet insurance requirements for those employees operating a university vehicle or participating in any driving activity on behalf of Brenau University, (including operating a golf cart, rented vehicle or one’s personal vehicle). Employees who travel must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Georgia driver’s license, and good driving record. All employees who operate university vehicles, who are employed in a sensitive position, or who travel regularly as part of their job responsibilities may be subject to post-hire drug screening and random drug-screening. All employees are subject to reasonable suspicion drug screening..

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement information organizational strategies to assist the clinical office in all aspects of operations of the clinical office
  • Oversee the Department's compliance with the GAPSC rules and regulations relevant to clinical practice
  • Ensure department has the sufficient number of qualified University Supervisors
  • Organize and run all administrative programs and operations in order to track and monitor student teachers, internships, school system information, and supporting documentation required for students’ eligibility for certification.
  • Ensure all clinical records and other documentation is current and aligned with GAPSC.
  • Act as liaison between students, University Supervisors, Partner Schools and Academic Advisors and troubleshoot all issues related to clinical students, university supervisors, and partner schools
  • Create and lead Student Teaching Orientation each semester. These include orientations for students as well as orientations for university supervisors.
  • Facilitate ED 100/501 each semester
  • Manage and update Field and Clinical Experiences website and handbook. Update annually or as needed.
  • Manage LiveText student enrollment and assignments relevant to Clinical Placements
  • Manage Clinical Supervision by assigning and overseeing University Supervisors for all field experiences, student teaching, and internships.
  • Monitor student dispositions, and address any student concerns.
  • Create and maintain MOUs with partner school districts.
  • Attend P-20 regional meetings, and work with partners at each level.
  • Other assignments as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but the Clinical Experiences Coordinator will be required to direct the work flow to the clinical office assistants.. 

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Generally Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5p.m. Hours may be extended to meet the needs of the department.

Environmental and Working Conditions/ Physical Demands and Aptitudes:

Normal office work: Sedentary work. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust have the ability to walk short distances, and/or drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. Exerting up to 15 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

This position is an on-ground position in Gainesville, GA.
