Senior Software Quality and Automation Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Software Quality Engineer to design, run, automate, and analyze test scripts for validating Zainar s 3D, sub-meter, indoor geopositioning product. Our product has testable interfaces on IoT devices, cloud applications, algorithms, and user interfaces (mobile and web). Our IoT devices comprise embedded platforms controlling and measuring radio transmit time and communicating with cloud services. These services calculate location via
triangulation and, with this information, provide business optimization calculations. This information is fed to users on both mobile and web applications. You will assist in designing test cases and improving quality in areas your analysis identifies as potentially brittle. You will execute, monitor, organize, and report on test results as part of release planning and interact with the development team for additional telemetry or test hooks.
We are strongly supportive of test automation and practices to improve software quality. You will be a leading proponent of both building automation and promulgating best practices. This role is fast-paced, supporting a variety of embedded platforms with the opportunity to be a key member on design and bring up a new embedded board for 3D positioning. This role operates closely with Research, Hardware and Software product development teams.

problems and complete mission objectives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Quickly learn our software stack and identify areas for tests that offer the greatest ROI.
• Develop test cases with an eye on automation. Our goal is 100% test automation.
• Work with the software team to improve test coverage through interface improvements and tools for test automation.
• Organize test runs based on what changes have occurred and report on the overall status of system quality.
• Identify and champion proposals to improve testing processes, reduce system cost, and improve system quality.
• Be a self-starter, own your work from concept to deployment.

MUST HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

• Development experience with Python, Perl, Bash or other scripting language.
• Experience with test case management and planning software such as Testrail, Zephyr, TestLink, etc.
• Experience developing test automation with packages such as Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, Robot, etc.
• Experience using version control systems such as Git.
• Experience integrating test automation with Github or Jenkins.
• Interpersonal skills and appreciation of other people's work discipline within a startup environment.
• The ability to work in an Agile team based in the US Pacific Timezone.

SHOULD HAVE ATTRIBUTES/SKILLS

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
• Experience building mobile app store release and deployment mechanisms such as Fastlane, Gitlab, Xcode, etc.
• Linux experience for running and developing test scripts.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills for computer platforms, with any embedded SW domain experience being a significant plus.
