Overview

This position will be leading in the preparation of the monthly and annual financial statements. Including, reviewing and preparing journal entries, preparing month-over-month comparisons of the financials, reviewing account reconciliations/analysis, the closing process and coordinating the year end audit. A successful candidate can manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of organization and attention to detail. You will be highly focused on automation and efficiency - have a “systems” mindset. You will maintain the integrity of our departmental reporting and expand our internal control structure. This position reports to our Controller.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close.
• Provides day-to-day management of the monthly financial processes including monthly closes, accounts payable, intercompany transactions, and preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Manages the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and the resolution of outstanding balance sheet issues.
• Document and maintain a sound internal control environment in accordance with company policies and procedures (with a focus on revenue leakage, cost control, and fraud), and assist in implementing new controls and processes as needed for efficiency.
• Manages the preparation of year end audit schedules (Eg: Sales cut off adjustment, Cash flow statements, Fixed assets roll forward, Operating & Finance lease schedule, footnote disclosures etc.) including delegation to the accounting team and coordination with external auditors.
• Prepares debt convent ratios and bank reporting.
• Oversees and/or prepares income tax package information.
• Assist with complying with government regulatory filings, census reporting, business tax renewals, and sales & use tax.
• Performs various ad-hoc analyses and reconciliations as necessary.
• Supervises accountants as assigned including training, coaching, and reviews of performance.
• Manages the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, training and procedures of the general accounting group.
• Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
• Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
• Participates in internal audits of accounting and administrative controls.
• Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
• Participates in other projects and task as delegated to help achieve our business goals.
• Help promote a culture of respect, professionalism, and collaboration within the finance team and throughout the company, in particular ensuring. that the department is presenting itself as support service to the rest of the business.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 as a supervisor or manager.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions, including swaps.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Posses the ability to analyze complex transactions while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic organization.
• Strong project and people management, organizational and communication skills are required.
• Knowledge of Netsuite ERP, a plus.
