Position Overview: As a Transportation Intern – you will gain hands on experience in the wholesale grocery distribution industry – focusing on Transportation Logistics and Operations. You will be working closely with our Transportation team to support daily activities and contributing to the overall success for our supply chain operations. RESPONSIBILITIES:Assisting in developing efficient delivery routes for our fleet of vehicles, considering factors such as traffic conditions, delivery schedules and fuel efficiencyAnalyzing transportation data to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement. Providing insights and recommendations to optimize the delivery processes and reducing costsCollaborating with drivers, warehouse staff and other relevant departments to ensure smooth communication and coordination of transportation activitiesTracking and monitoring the performance of transportation operations, including on-time deliveries, vehicle utilization, and fuel efficiency. Reporting findings to the transportation managerAssisting in maintaining accurate and up to date transportation records, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records and delivery schedulesEnsuring compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards.
