Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado is Hiring a Development Associate Near Aurora, CO

Major Areas of Responsibility:

Recruiting, Screening, Placing Volunteers:

· Recruit, train, screen, and place new volunteers.

· Engage with program team to determine volunteer needs.

· Serve as team liaison to the Young Professionals Board

· Use marketing tools such as outreach programs, e-mails, social media, and volunteer databases.

· Maintain an up-to-date database.

Coordinate Three Main Fundraisers

  • Support the Development Officer to execute: Shaken Not Stirred Martini Fundraiser ($105,000 net), Hope Challenge Golf Tournament ($145,000 net) and Success Starts With Hope Breakfast ($83,000 net).
  • Work in conjunction with Program team to host friendraising & volunteer activities (Graduation Celebration, Career Panels, Meal Providers).
  • Coordinate with Development Officer all event visioning, design, execution, and vendor relations for all fundraising events.
  • Executes a marketing strategy to support events including use of website and social media, as well as traditional media vehicles.
  • Manages scheduling, costs and usage of event locations, and vendors, working within the allocated budget
  • Works with Development team to ensure successful event from beginning to end, developing event theme and identifying honoree(s) and guest speaker(s), managing guest lists and check-in, overseeing event staff and volunteers, and coordinating post-event follow-up
  • Manages all vendors including AV, décor, caterer, photographer, and printer
  • Drafts all necessary outreach solicitation letters and creates all collateral materials for events (invites, signage, programs, website, etc.).

Executes Communication Plan

  • Develops content (graphic design, photography, & video), does research, manages social media, email marketing, and internal communications to consistently articulate Boys Hope Girls Hope’s mission, key messaging, and program.
  • Manage website, developing content (WordPress)
  • Create and post content for social media channels and group pages that keeps the public informed of Boys Hope Girls Hope’s activities, initiatives, perspectives, and impact working with Program team to develop content (currently LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Monitor and respond to comments on social media and other websites or digital media platforms
  • Build and disseminate various email marketing campaigns for segmented audiences and create monthly enewsletters (Constant Contact)

Supports Donor Communication

  • Learns Sales Force donor database entry, preparing donor acknowledgements, manage moves management and reporting, providing reports for Executive Director and Development Officer to execute fundraising plan.

Critical Criteria

  • Undergraduate degree with minimum 3 years of fundraising/development experience, working with nonprofit organizations preferred
  • A commitment to and understanding of BHGHCO scholars and collegians.
  • Must possess good decision making skills and ability to manage time with little supervision
  • Excellent personal interaction and communication skills to work with diverse populations
  • Results and process oriented, able to manage multiple donor relationships, events and campaign timelines
  • Ability to process sensitive and confidential documentation
  • Able to work flexible hours when required, occasionally including weekends and evenings
  • Must produce quality, error-free work and take initiative to complete projects as needed or assigned
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office products including Office 365, SalesForce, WordPress, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, GoogleDrive, video editing software
  • Possess a valid CO driver's license and a good driving record
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid will also be required as a condition of continued employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The nature of the work to cultivate loyal donor relationships will entail periodic early morning, late evening and weekend commitments. This is a busy role!

Flexibility is an option with this position. Eligibility for medical/dental benefits, is based on 36-40 hours per week. A minimum of 32 hours per week is expected.

Hybrid work model - minimum 3 days a week at BHGHCO office, with ability to work from home the other days. During the first 6-9 months of employment additional days in the office may be required to build critical interpersonal connections and strengthen the team’s vision, strategy and cohesiveness.

· Health and Dental coverage, with a 20% employee contribution toward the premium (50% employee contribution toward dependent care coverage).

· Employer-Paid Term Life Insurance, with an AD&D clause, that provides a benefit of 1.5 X your annual wages up to maximum benefit of $50,000.

· Disability Program, which is effective after 90 days of disability, on a prorated basis at 66 2/3% of salary, to a maximum benefit of $5,000 per month.

Short Job Description:

The Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado (BHGHCO) Development Associate supports primarily the Development team to raise the funds necessary to guide motivated high school scholars and collegians on their pathways to graduation and beyond. The Development team consists of the Executive Director, Development Officer, Business Manager and grant writer. Through year-round programming such as book clubs, career panels, tutoring, and college visits, BHGHCO creates a culture of college ambition and college preparation for students from underserved communities. BHGH high school enrichment also includes service learning, character education, and life skills programming to promote positive youth development. BHGHCO helps scholars transition to college and continues to be a resource for them throughout their college journey. BHGHCO team strives to do all of this in a nurturing, respectful, and culturally fluent environment consistent with the values of Boys Hope Girls Hope.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
