Description

Job Title: Communications Coordinator-2

Salary: $18.50/ Hour 

Hours: up to 40 hours per week; non-exempt 

Benefits: Benefits’ package includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan, and more.

Reports to: Vice President of Communications

Location: 3361 S Jenkins Rd, Fort Pierce, Fl 34981

1. INTRODUCTION

Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County (BGCSLC) takes changing the lives of youth to heart. We go above and beyond to ensure that every youth that walks through our doors has a world-class club experience that provides them with the opportunity for a GREAT FUTURE!

As a Communications Coordinator, you will be responsible for creating and implementing communication strategies that help us achieve our goals. You will also be responsible for managing all communication channels, including social media, email marketing, and public relations. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's marketing and communication efforts. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around creating compelling Club content and managing Club communications initiatives to enhance brand visibility and engage with target audiences. You will work closely with the Communications Department and the Operations Department to develop and execute effective content strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives.

2. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Content & Marketing Asset Generation

· Generate engaging and high-quality Club content for various platforms including website, blog, social media, and email marketing campaigns

· Develop visually appealing and sharable content assets such as infographics, videos and images

· Contribute to achieving public relations goals as set by the Communications Department by drafting press releases, media pitches, and other communications materials

· Create marketing materials to include but are not limited to newsletters, public service announcements, flyers, brochures, etc. while supporting a variety of special projects

· Evaluate the success of strategies, materials, and media while modifying when necessary

Advertising & Media Management

· Contribute to media planning to meet goals and needs of annual campaigns including, but not limited to, Back to School, Summer Camp, Chili Cook-Off, 30th Anniversary, etc.

· Oversee tools such as Feathr to increase digital presence and launch ad campaigns, geo-targeting, and retargeting campaigns, etc.

· Identify new audience segments and strategize ways to reach them with our branded message and marketing materials

· Identify opportunities to promote Club services, programs, and activities to specific constituents or the public at large.

Brand Management

· Ensure all content produced adheres to the brand guidelines, maintains consistency, and aligns with the company’s messaging

· Help maintain a consistent brand identity across all communications channels – i.e. social media, Constant Contact, internal memos, etc.

· Collaborate with internal teams to ensure brand messaging is aligned with marketing and communications initiatives

· Work with Resource Development department and Logistics Manager to implement communications strategies into donor communications 

· Work with internal teams to ensure brand consistency at all organization events

OTHER DUTIES & Responsibilities

· Actively participate in BGCA trainings, internal trainings, and All Staff meetings; attend networking and community outreach events, as needed.

· Completes any additional assignments as requested by Supervisor

3. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is advantageous, but not required. Must have some experience in the related field. 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent copywriting and editing abilities.

· Familiarity with social media platforms and content management systems.

· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

· Attention to detail and a creative mindset.

· Proficiency in graphic design tools and video editing software is a plus.

· Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies

· Strong project management and organizational skills

· Experience with social media management and email marketing platforms

· Ability to work collaboratively with other departments

· Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

· Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communication

Travel

Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes.

4. Working conditions

Our offices, neighborhood clubhouses, and school-based clubs are fast-paced work environments and are strategically located in areas of St. Lucie County where youth need us most. Based on the organization's needs, flexibility to work different schedules and work in different locations in St. Lucie County is required due to changing business demands.
