Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is Hiring a Health Director- SPARC Near Schenectady, NY

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady S.P.A.R.C summer day camp program, is looking for someone who will maintain a high level of health and safety standards for all campers and staff, according to the State Health Department.

The summer season runs from July 1st 2024- August 23rd 2024.

There will be mandatory training prior to camp that all personnel must attend.

Daily tasks include:

  • Provide medical services and health supervision of all campers and staff.
  • Insure compliance with all New York State Department of Health rules and regulations.
  • Creating and maintaining daily health logs/ records of illnesses and injuries.
  • Maintain a file of all camper health history.
  • Review and maintain health records of campers and proof all health related/ food allergy lists.
  • Supervision and administration of medication, including insulin and nebulizer treatment, where indicated by health record information.
  • Ordering and maintaining medical supplies.
  • Communication and follow up on injuries and/or illnesses with parents/guardians.
  • Directing camp personnel.
  • Insure compliance with New York State Health Department
  • Liaison with local medical personnel and emergency services as needed.

Qualifications:

Current RN, EMT, or LPN certification and at least 21 years of age, with prior experience doing triage and being a first responder.

Previous experience in a camp or school setting or working with children is desirable.

Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

Must be certified in Responding to Emergencies, First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Experience handling medical emergency situations.

Have the ability to communicate positively with diverse age groups.
