Camp Lovejoy, which is a Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady summer day camp program, is looking for a Health Director who will maintain a high level of health and safety standards for all campers and staff, according to the State Health Department.

Camp Lovejoy is located in the beautiful Helderberg Mountains of Altamont.

The camp season runs from July 1st 2024 till Aug 16th 2024. Weekly Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

There will be a mandatory paid training prior to camp that all personnel must attend.

Daily tasks include:

• Provide medical services and health supervision of all campers and staff.
• Insure compliance with all New York State Department of Health rules and regulations.
• Creating and maintaining daily health logs/ records of illnesses and injuries.
• Maintain a file of all camper health history.
• Review and maintain health records of campers and proof all health related/ food allergy lists.
• Supervision and administration of medication, including insulin and nebulizer treatment, where indicated by health record information.
• Ordering and maintaining medical supplies.
• Communication and follow up on injuries and/or illnesses with parents/guardians.
• Directing camp personnel.
• Insure compliance with New York State Health Department
• Liaison with local medical personnel and emergency services as needed.

Qualifications:

Current RN or LPN certification and at least 21 years of age, with prior experience doing triage.

Previous experience in a camp or school setting or working with children is desirable.

Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

Must be certified in Responding to Emergencies, First Aid, CPR, and AED.

Experience handling medical emergency situations.

Have the ability to communicate positively with diverse age groups.
