JOB SUMMARY:

The Site Director plans, coordinates, directs, and monitors overall daily club activities with the primary concern for staff schedules performance, club membership and attendance, program planning and delivery, club safety, cleanliness and maintenance, staff and member safety, and preparing and maintaining required records and reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Club Leadership

  •  Ability to interpret data and collect data
  • Communicates, implements, and enforces the organization’s Operational and Human Resources and procedures; monitors same for compliance.
  • Identifies and implements actions needed to optimize club use by kids who need us most and at-risk community and to achieve and maintain optimal daily attendance levels.
  • Plans and coordinates effective use of community and volunteer support.
  • Handles crisis situations and takes action to resolve conflicts, disputes and/or concerns of staff, club members, volunteers, and/or parents.

Club Supervision & Staff Development

  •  Ability to interpret data and collect data
  • Collaborates with management regarding staffing levels and hours to best support effective club operations and program delivery.
  • Orients, trains, guides, and develops staff
  • Develops performance objectives for staff (including Enrichment Teachers, if applicable), monitors performance, provides on-going and periodic feedback on performance and recognizes their accomplishments.
  • Takes approved disciplinary action for rules violations and/or failure to perform.
  • Develops agenda and conducts regular staff meetings.
  • Utilizes interns and volunteers to support club initiatives

Club Programs & Services

  •  Plans, oversees and ensures designated programs are delivered with quality, and support identified Youth Development Outcomes.

  • Establishes and maintains program goals and setting that insure the health and safety of members.
  • Ensures that staff understands and communicates program areas are safe, well ventilated, well lit and that club equipment is maintained in good working condition.
  • Encourage members to participate in a variety of program activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area.
  • Monitors program delivery and collaborates with staff and pillar leadership to plan and implements improvements.
  • Evaluates programs continually so they respond to member needs, address gender and cultural diversity.
  • Ensures club’s special events and field trips are properly planned and supervised in accordance with the BGCMA Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensures ETO updates are correct and meets established deadlines.

Club Budget

  • Collaborates with management to develop a budget that supports club needs; monitors and controls expenditures and reports variances.
  • Collaborations and Public Relations
  • Participates in activities to maintain good public relations for club’s programs and services.
  • Increase the visibility of club programs and dissemination of timely information to advertise and promote club.
  • Encourages and promotes parent and community support and engagement.

Club Facility and Property

  • Assesses risk and implements policies to minimize loss and exposure to loss.
  • Enforces policies, procedures and standards regarding upkeep, usage, and maintenance of club areas, vehicles, and equipment and ensures club program areas are safe, attractive, and well-maintained.

Administrative

  • Performs administrative responsibilities, including registration, orientation, and maintaining information required for reports and records.
  • Plans and implements outcomes measurement and other surveys. Prepares accurate, timely club monthly and other reports, and plans and takes actions required to satisfy grant reporting requirements.
  • Prepares and presents reports that communicate club’s progress towards goals for use with school and BGCMA management.
  • Maintains and secures confidential club member and employee files and records.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, substitute education for experience, Six (6) years of professional experience in Youth Development, Education, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in directing programs, developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans, and building/managing a professional staff, preferably in human services and/or youth development. Boys and Girls Clubs experience preferred.
  •  Experience managing/maintaining a facility and develop community support of club operations and programs.
  • Experience in working with community constituencies and diverse populations preferred.

Skills

  • Ensures ETO updates are correct and meets established deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to handle crisis and to resolve conflicts, disputes or concerns in the club among staff, club members, volunteers or parents.
  • Knowledge of the mission, objectives, and programs of non-profit organizations and youth development services, preferably Boys and Girls Clubs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate staff.
  • Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.
  • MS Office Suite and internet/computer competency required.

EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION:

Nonexempt employees are entitled, under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), to time and one-half their "regular rate" of pay for each hour they actually work over the applicable FLSA overtime threshold in the applicable FLSA work period.

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Daily contact with club staff, club members, families, outside organizations, and individuals to plan, coordinate and deliver programs. Travel to special events and field trips are required. Required to work daily afternoon/evening hours. Occasional weekend work is required to accomplish objectives. Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, especially as seasons and service needs change. The position requires walking and climbing stairs; Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
