Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman with receiving, storing, and distributing material, tools, equipment, and products and performs maintenance on construction equipment and tools within the Company.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensures repair and maintenance is performed on all equipment in shop/job sites
Accepts equipment and material orders from the Shop Superintendent
Assembles orders both from stock and local suppliers, and safely loads on truck and/or trailer; delivers to job sites as requested.
Loads and unloads trucks, checks in equipment and tools returned to the yard from the field.
Opens bales, crates, and other containers, as required.
Records and tracks location of construction equipment and power tools on jobsites via appropriate computer program or forms.
Performs facilities maintenance duties such as emptying trash, changing light bulbs, lawn maintenance, and snow removal and cleaning the shop area.
Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
Ensures warehouse is organized, accessible and safe for employees.
Conforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Conforms with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
Performs other duties as required and assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Ability to evaluate the functionality of tools and equipment to determine whether they require repair or maintenance
Ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs of motorized equipment, such as lubrication, and changing oil, filters and spark plugs
Ability to maintain a clean driving record
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to be have regular and predictable attendance
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear regularly
Ability to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance regularly
Ability to lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than (75-100 ) pounds regularly
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment to include hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and close-toed shoes regularly
Experience:*
Minimum of 6-12 months of related experience and/or training required
Experience in the construction industry preferred
Education & Training:*
Minimum of a High School degree or general education degree (GED) required.
*Equivalent education and experience will be considered
