Boy Scouts of America is Hiring a Manager Donor Relations (Hybrid) Near Irving, TX

Position Overview

If you are interested in helping a mission-driven nonprofit thrive and grow this job is for you. We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, creative Manager of Donor Relations whose role is to support the organization by providing leadership and direction to the donor relations and stewardship functions of the National Office of Development as it relates to project management, donor relations, and donor events for philanthropic donors and prospective donors generating a growing revenue stream for the organization. The Manager of Donor Relations is responsible for creating and implementing engagement and stewardship strategy in conjunction with the Director of Development Services, Manager of Grants Administration, Manager of Philanthropic Engagement, and other members of the team. This position reports to the Director of Development Services.

Responsibilities
  • Creates donor relations strategies to provide acknowledgement, recognition, engagement, and stewardship opportunities based on donor segmentation.
  • Develops processes and documentation to ensure consistent, concierge-level service for prospects and donors through all donor relations activities.
  • Provides guidance and direction for development events. This includes marketing plans, logistics, registration, guest experience, run of show and script writing, post-event communications and reporting, etc.
  • Collaborates with donor relations and development staff as well as staff and volunteers from other BSA departments to ensure fulfillment for the donors and fulfillment of terms of gift agreements.
  • Coordinates design, messaging, and production of donor relations and event materials.
  • Manages, coaches, and develops donor relations staff to create first-class donor experiences while achieving department and organizational goals.
  • Creates and manages donor relations and event budgets.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Competencies:

Knowledge of: Non-profit fundraising principles and practices; major donor development strategies; event planning and management; project management methodology; budget and financial management; relevant BSA programs and initiatives; excellent understanding of donor relations and stewardship best practices; proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Skill in: Leading and managing teams; communicating effectively, both written and verbal; building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and external partners; managing projects, including needs assessment, planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation; planning events and utilizing logistics; delegating tasks effectively and providing constructive feedback; managing budget and financials; efficiently using office administration software and donor management systems.

Ability to: Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously; use strong analytical and problem-solving skills; work independently and as part of a team; maintain excellent attention to detail and accuracy; use strong organizational skills; be flexible and adaptable; maintain discreet and ethical handling of confidential information.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Journalism, Public Relations, Hospitality, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of philanthropic services experience (e.g. project management, donor relations, donor events, and gift proposal formation for philanthropic donors and prospective donors, etc.).
  • Must pass a criminal history background check.
  • Experience with CRM systems, including Blackbaud CRM preferred
