BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325 clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.

We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking customer service oriented candidates to join our team as a PBX Operator! This position is benefit eligible working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday.

Job Perks:

  • Part-time employees are eligible for medical / dental / vision, company-paid life insurance, voluntary benefits, RTD EcoPass, 401(k), and holiday pay (if regularly scheduled to work on an observed holiday).
  • Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday.
  • Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

  • Operates attendant console to receive internal and external calls. Routes calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides accurate directory assistance and general information to external callers.
  • Records telephone messages according to established procedures after unsuccessful attempt to transfer calls.
  • Distributes written messages to designated personnel according to procedures.
  • Monitors the COR Zero telephones.
  • Utilizes the paging system according to procedure.
  • Records telephone problems and service requests.
  • Utilizes pagers in a timely manner to contact providers, Maintenance, Administration, or others outside the main campus in the event of an emergency, according to established procedures.
  • Understands and competently operates the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Participates in on-going EMR learning opportunities and attends mandatory EMR training.
  • Takes care of the on call schedule for all of BMC. Sends schedule and updates to the after-hours on call company.
  • Processes all incoming mail and distributes to appropriate staff members.
  • Processes all in common and outgoing faxes for all remote staff, Medication Auth Team and Rheumatology Department.
Experience and Skills:
  • Follows standard procedures in routing calls.
  • Must use good judgment in handling backed up calls during peak period.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the activities of the switchboard.

Education:

  • Prefer medical setting with switchboard or heavy phone experience.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

  • $15.17 - $19.72/hour (full pay range is $15.17 - $22.76)
