Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking Medical Assistant (MA) candidates to join our local Float Pool team! As a Float Pool team member, this position is eligible for mileage reimbursement.

  • Full-time hours are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday with the flexibility to work work four (4) 10 hour work days.
  • Part-time hours are 24 hours per week Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum of working three (3) days per week.

  • Part-time employees are eligible for medical / dental / vision, company-paid life insurance, voluntary benefits, RTD EcoPass, 401(k), and holiday pay (if regularly scheduled to work on an observed holiday).
  • Day shift schedules are Monday through Friday. There are occasional voluntary four (4) hour shifts on Saturday mornings from 8 am - 12 pm for several primary clinics (Family Medicine and Pediatrics).
  • Experience working in both primary care and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties:

  • Perform clinic administrative duties, including but not limited to, answering incoming telephone calls, obtaining and/or verifying patient information, patient check in/out, coordinate and facilitate accurate patient appointment
  • Obtain patient medical history, vital signs, chart preparation, medication dosage and frequency, patient allergens, and assist with medical examinations
  • Maintain accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate protocols, regulations, and policies
  • Preparing examination room, ensuring proper equipment is present and room is adequately stocked
  • Document all aspects of the patient encounter on an electronic medical record system


Experience and Skills:

  • Must be able to recognize and identify patient’s symptoms and use appropriate professional judgment in course of action.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel to and work at all four (4) BMC sites, as assigned.
  • Must be available by phone to accept assignment changes as needed.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) education program
    Active EMT and / or Surgical Tech certification are acceptable credentials to substitute Medical Assistant (MA) education.
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree with an concentration in science / health sciences are acceptable credentials to substitute Medical Assistant (MA) education. Applicant(s) must submit unofficial college transcripts for Medical Assistant (MA) job placement approval.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) in a clinic setting, preferred.
Salary Range:
  • $18.36 - $23.50 / per hour depending on experience

Location(s):

  • This position will be expected to travel between all five site locations in Boulder County (Boulder, Erie, Longmont, and Louisville, CO). This position is also eligible for mileage reimbursement.
