Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create a variety of sushi dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients used in sushi preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of all food served
- Assist with menu planning and development of new sushi dishes
- Provide excellent customer service by taking special requests and accommodating dietary restrictions
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong knife skills and ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Preferred Skills:
- Culinary degree or certification
- Experience working in a restaurant or sushi bar setting
- Familiarity with Japanese cuisine and sushi techniques
