Boston Children's Hospital is Hiring a Per Diem - Chaplain Near Boston, MA
Position Description
The Per diem Interfaith Chaplain will be responsible for:
- Providing spiritual and religious care to all inpatients, families and staff (as needed).
- Collaborating and communicating effectively with nursing, medical, social work and child life staff to provide coordinated and patient-centered bedside care.
- Successful completion of at least three units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
- Interfaith and multicultural experience in working with people of many religions (and no religion) from all over the world
- Experience working with children and families
- Ability to communicate well and work on a teamplay well with others
- Ability to minister in hospital setting in accordance with accepted standards of pastoral practice and sensitivity to the unique needs of pediatric patients and cultural diversity.
- Ability to be flexible regarding scheduling as the role is on-call including nights.
- Applicant must be able to reach hospital within half an hour.
- Must be available 5:00 pm to 8:00 am at least five days a week.
- Must work well in crisis situations and with bereavement.
