Position Description The MRI Technologist is responsible for the following:
Performs routine procedures in MRI on a scheduled and emergency basis.
Reviews and evaluates requisitions for MR imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
Selects appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Magnetic field environment.
Practices High Reliability Training.Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
Complies with ETU.Complies with HIPPA regulations.

Completes all required competencies and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

The MRI Technologist must have the following:
Associates Degree: Allied Health
MRI Certification
