Job Summary/Basic Function:

Compiles and organizes data to derive meaningful insights. Organizes tasks, documents activities and information, assists with projects. Assists in guiding department work plans based on key metrics and analysis.

Level Scope:

Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self-development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.

Essential Functions:
  • Develop and maintain records, documents, and data that encompass a variety of data activities and support functions.
  • Research and analyze data for accuracy and to ensure appropriate procedures have been followed for compliance with Federal and State laws and university policy.
  • Audit, analyze, and verify records and reports. Prepare data and statistical reports. Maintain complex spreadsheets.
  • Prepares deliverables for use in planning and reporting, using appropriate tools.
  • Communicates clearly and regularly, follows up on inquiries and requests.
  • Learns and adapts new technical/procedural knowledge/skills to keep up to date on professional skills and office needs.
  • Creates and maintains documentation.
  • Contributes to the development of analytical reports to answer business questions.
  • Conducts needs assessments and research.
  • Develops productive working relationships with team and broadly with diverse groups of people.
  • Publishes standard and complex ad-hoc reports with varying detail for different audiences.
  • Develops and documents procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work with database systems:

  • Idaho SBDC Impact Database
    Lead data collection and provide comprehensive data analysis for Idaho SBDC activities. The position requires excellence in data management and communication. Capable of gaining a strong working ability to import and export data, create reports, develop visual templates, and understand software enhancements for the systems used within the Idaho SBDC. Build strong relationships and customize communication skills to a wide-ranging group of SBDC staff and external partners. The ability to keep information confidential is key. Focus on data integrity. Manage Surveying.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to dependably meet goals in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Demonstrated skill in multi-level spreadsheet development and manipulation.
  • Maintain a professional attitude amidst difficult and stressful times and demonstrate a sense of ethics while performing daily tasks.
  • Ability to stay highly organized under pressure.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of reporting and analyses. Ability to independently research problem areas.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience with presentation and data gathering software.
  • Understanding of applying analytical methods to business problems, driving improved decision making and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.

Salary starting at $46,051.20 annually, commensurate with experience.
