The Data Governance Analyst position is a hybrid role based out of our Boise, ID office. This position is a part of our Career Reentry Program, Women Elevated.

Women Elevated, is an empowering career reentry program at Micron that seeks to reignite the professional journey of women. We understand that the course of life can lead to career breaks, and we're here to empower women who have taken a break for two years or more in re-entering the workforce seamlessly. To qualify for the WE program, applicants must:

Be on a career break from their primary field for two or more years

Have 5-7 years of prior experience in the functional area of interest

As a Data Governance Analyst in Micron’s Enterprise Master Data (EMD) team, you’ll define and oversee the policies that govern our master data, as well as, support the design and delivery of solutions that improve Micron's overall data quality. We are looking for problem-solvers who bring innovative ideas that accelerate value delivery and relentlessly focus on the policies and processes that drive improvements to our master data quality.

The Data Governance Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties to ensure our governance processes are fast and simple and drive consistency and quality of master data. We are implementing a Master Data Management tool that will shore up our governance policies and create exciting opportunities to grow and improve Micron’s data governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead master data governance councils
  • Uphold data governance policies
  • Drive consensus on Master Data related issues
  • Manage master data creation and maintenance in a variety of source systems to support business teams in meeting day-to-day operational objectives
  • Be a subject matter expert in the data assignment and in the systems used to manage the data in an assigned functional area
  • Maintain EMD process and procedure documentation to drive a clear understanding of master data management processes and concepts
  • Analyze data, information, and business requirements to understand the effects of poor data quality
  • Identify process weaknesses and gaps and drive process improvement
  • Prepare and present conclusions and recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities to process stakeholders and leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teams in process development, deployment, and training to support continuous improvement opportunities
  • Partner with business teams in the development of standards, business rules, and guidelines for outlining data quality expectations
  • Monitor audits and issue identification to ensure data integrity and to support data cleanup approach to improve data quality
  • Build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of internal organizations (business owners, practices, departments) to understand current and future data needs and strategy for data in assigned functional areas required to meet business objectives

Qualifications

  • 5 years preferred.
  • Self-motivated and service-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong persuasive and diplomatic communication skills
  • Proven ability to drive the development, documentation, and implementation of business process
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office products to support day-to-day job functions
  • Knowledge of standard systems and tools to manipulate and manage data (Informatica, SAP, SQL, Teamcenter) a plus
  • Knowledge of standard process modeling software to document processes and procedures (iGrafx, Enterprise Architect, and/or Visio, etc.) a plus
