POSITION SUMMARY: This individual's primary responsibility is to build quotes and estimates in order to initiate jobs for production

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the supervisor in all office tasks as instructed.
  • Initiate live and preliminary estimates, quotes, and jobs in Pace and create job tickets.
  • Assist in the evaluation and revision of estimates, quotes, and jobs.
  • Monitor jobs through proofing and assist supervisor in the regular prioritization of tasks in the office.
  • Work with the supervisor to coordinate special stock acquisition and be involved with its proper allocation.
  • Work with the supervisor to coordinate with vendors for jobs requiring outside service.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of active job statuses and review finished job activities and charges as required.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of our vendors and communicate with them as needed.
  • Under supervisor's guidance work with other departments to ensure the timely flow of work to and through vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Good understanding of the unique manufacturing details of our product line and regular projects.
  • Good understanding of customer specifications, division policies and practices, as well as industry standards.
  • Good understanding of plant equipment, capabilities.
  • Understanding of relative local and regional vendor cababilities and strengths.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function within several teams.
  • Proficient in the use of basic office equipment and computer programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Adept at working independently or as part of a team; and make decisions in line with established guidelines.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk working on a computer.
  • Ability to exercise self-discipline, maintain focus, and avoid personal distractions.
  • Ability and willingness to grow and develop into additional responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of all computer programs pertinent to estimating
  • Competencies: Accurate, adaptable/flexible, calm and productive under pressure, strong math, analytical, and problem solving skills, able to prioritize workload, strong organizational and time management capabilities, able to work in a fast paced environment and meet changing and challenging deadlines, excellent communication skills, detail oriented, ethical, efficient, enthusiastic, good listener, team player, self-motivated.
Required Education: Associates degree
Required Experience: 3-4 years related experience
