Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking a Yard Manager to oversee all aspects of our marine dealership's outdoor operations in Lake Placid, FL. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a passion for the marine industry. As the Yard Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe management of our boat yard, including inventory control, customer service, and facility maintenance.

Responsibilities:

1. Yard Operations Management:
   
   • Supervise daily activities in the boat yard, including boat storage, maintenance, and repairs.
   • Coordinate with service technicians, boat detailers, and other staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.
   • Implement and enforce safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
2. Inventory Control:
   
   • Oversee the intake and storage of new boat deliveries.
   • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and ensure proper organization of boats and equipment in the yard.
   • Monitor and manage boat shrinkage and loss prevention efforts.
3. Customer Service:
   
   • Serve as a point of contact for customers visiting the yard, addressing inquiries, and providing assistance as needed.
   • Coordinate with sales and service teams to facilitate customer boat pickups and deliveries.
   • Resolve customer concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.
4. Facility Maintenance:
   
   • Conduct regular inspections of the yard facilities and equipment, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs.
   • Ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the yard, including disposal of waste and debris.
   • Manage vendors and contractors for facility maintenance and repairs as necessary.
5. Team Leadership:
   
   • Recruit, train, and supervise yard staff, providing guidance and support to promote a positive work environment.
   • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees to foster their professional development.
   • Foster teamwork and collaboration among yard staff and other departments within the dealership.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within the marine industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of boat handling, storage, and maintenance procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including inventory management software.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in marine technology or business management is a plus.
