Position Overview:

We are excited to expand our BMI footprint in the Labor Union Market and are looking for a talented and experienced Business Development Representative to grow this new nationwide territory! Leveraging your existing knowledge and relationships in the Labor Union Market, you will be thoroughly involved in all aspects of the sales process and ongoing client relationship management, in partnership with our Client Delivery, Marketing and Product personnel. We are looking for a passionate hunter who thrives on prospecting, networking, building relationships, understanding the customer’s business problems, and bringing them valuable solutions.

This can be a remote-based position (within the continental United States), with an average of 15% travel expected domestically.

Job Title:Business Development Representative, Labor Union Market

Department: Sales

Reports to: Director, Sales

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Identifying and contacting potential clients within the Labor Union Market to generate new business
  • Leverage a consultative sales approach to gain trusted advisor status with key clients, their referral sources, and new prospects
  • Understand key elements of member and/or employee benefits and a client's business environment to provide feedback to management on market trends as represented by clients
  • Responsible for execution on growth strategies within the Labor Union Market to develop new business and expand business within existing clients
  • Support achievement of company, team, and individual goals
  • Helps clients understand and solve their unique business challenges through the sale of audit solutions
  • Support our product driven organization with thoughtful and proactive market feedback
  • Earn customer respect and loyalty to motivate continued and additional business with the client and/or referral source
  • Lead prospective client meetings, conducting sales presentations covering our solutions, and drive communication regarding selection and scope of projects
  • Prepare proposals including recommendations on pricing, features, and schedules
  • Collaborate with peers across on a regular basis to establish best practices, consistency where appropriate, and accomplishment of overall business goals and objectives
  • Ensure prospective customers receive superior service and support by responding to inquiries and questions, involving the appropriate parties within firm
  • Thoughtfully and efficiently transition new clients to the Client Delivery team
  • Execute new projects and initiatives as required to meet individual and company goals
  • Ensure the sales CRM solution is kept up to date with key information and metrics as assigned to ensure accurate reporting
  • Performs other functions as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of five years of experience working with the Taft-Hartley/Labor Union Market in a consultative, strategic sales role
  • History of exceeding sale goals and growing existing revenue streams
  • Proficiency in use of various Microsoft software such as, Windows, Excel, Word and Outlook as well as customer relationship management software such as Salesforce

  • People personal who loves to network and meet new people
  • Demonstrated adaptability and conflict resolution experience

  • Knowledge of the healthcare benefits industry (health insurance brokers/producers/consultants, claims audits, dependent eligibility audits) is preferred but not required
