BLUESTEM COMMUNITIES MANAGEMENT INC is Hiring a Culinary Associate - Schowalter Villa - FT Near Hesston, KS

Assist in preparing and serving food to residents, employees and visitors. Washes dishes and cleans in assigned areas

  • Assists in preparing food
  • Prepares residents’ food according to their specific nutritional needs as specified on their diet cards
  • Remains alert to residents’ changing dietary and health concerns
  • Prepares food trays and beverages
  • Uses all kitchen equipment appropriately
  • Prepares food serving areas for use and serves and delivers food
  • Sets up dining room tables with appropriate dishes and silverware
  • Prepares food serving areas, including steam table and salad bar
  • Serves residents in the dining area and delivers meals an beverages to healthcare residents
  • Monitors residents to verify that they are eating the foods specified on their diet cards
  • Follows HACCP standards for preparing, handling, serving and storing food
  • Ensures food is served and stored at correct temperatures
  • Uses food and supplies appropriately to maintain budget
  • Understand and follows food portion controls
  • Avoids wasting food or supplies
  • Cleans in assigned areas
  • Cleans and sanitizes food preparation areas
  • Assists dishwasher in washing and putting away dishes
  • Takes out trash
  • Sweeps, mops, or vacuums kitchen and dining room floors
  • Clears and wipes down tables in the dining room
  • Uses good sanitation practices as described in HACCP standards
  • Must be 16 years old
  • Must be able to spend most of the day walking, standing, stooping or bending and be able to lift 50 pounds
    • Work every other weekend
  • Past experience in food service is preferred
