Summary

The Director of People Experience (PX) at Bluberi is a pivotal role responsible for executing PX strategies that align with the company's objectives. This individual will oversee or assist in several PX functions, including benefits, compensation, talent management, compliance, and employee relations. With a keen understanding of US and Canada (Canada preferred but not required) requirements and market trends, the Director of PX will drive initiatives to foster a diverse, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with Vice President of People Experience to develop the Company’s goals and strategies related to PX and implements programs, policies and procedures to support the strategies
  • With direction from the VP of PX and senior leadership, this role will execute on initiatives for the PX department including, but not limited to, Benefits, Compensation, Diversity, Employee Relations, Leadership Development, Performance and Talent Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Recognition and Employee Morale, Recruiting and Worker’s Compensation
  • Monitors and ensures the Company’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations in all jurisdictions the Company operates within, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment communicating changes in Company policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed
  • Evaluates, recommends, and participates in staff development
  • Maintains an HRIS that meets information and personnel needs
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the Company’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or talent management system
  • Oversees and monitors unemployment claims/appeals hearings, grievance issues
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate and/or as directed by executive management on PX issues
  • Executes PX strategy driven by the approved department budget
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management
  • Performs other duties as required.

The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to see color and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least ten (10) pounds, and prolonged instances of sitting during the shift

Travel required

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other related field or equivalent work experience;
  • 8 years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum 1 year of director level experience in Human Resource, preferably within a similar industry;
  • Knowledge of the casino gaming and slot manufacturer industry preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations in US, Canada preferred
  • High level of expertise with MS Office Suite and HRIS software, UKG preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality;
  • Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Experience managing a diverse HR team and overseeing multiple HR functions.

Preferred education and experience

  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP or CHPR
  • Experience working in a global or international HR capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results.
  • Experience with UKG HRIS
