Responsibilities of Occupational Therapy Assistant:

  • Provides skilled therapeutic intervention and services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Follows all regulations and guidelines of the facility including compliance with confidentiality and HIPPA.
  • Provides documentation of patient’s condition, and provides caregiver/patient education as appropriate.
  • Regularly discusses with supervising Occupational Therapist patients’ progress and any concerns or guidance needed.
  • Ensures safe treatment practices and monitors patients’ engagement and responses to treatment modifications as necessary.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapy Assistant:

  • Valid NYS professional license
  • Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Experience with rehab optima and skilled nursing facilities preferred
