Medical Receptionist

We are looking for a bright and motivated individual that wants to be part of a team environment with the goal of providing exceptional natural health care to our community. Our practice is inclusive to all people, and we strive to exceed our patients’ expectations for service and care. Our philosophy of patient care extends to our work environment, our values focus on meaningful work in a positive upbeat environment. Hours are Monday through Friday approximately 30 hours per week.
Duties:
1. Answering phone in a pleasant manner, screening calls and taking messages, scheduling patient appointments, providing information and handling patients' needs expeditiously.
2. Perform front office desk duties including insurance verification and updating patient information in the computer, collecting co-pays and payment for services and supplements, obtaining signatures as necessary.
3. Learn about our natural health services and products and assist patients and customers with their purchases.
4. Overseeing and maintaining a clean, orderly waiting area.
5. Scanning, photocopying, faxing, and computer input/typing.
6. Attend meetings as required.
7. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirements.
8. May be required to perform other duties as requested by Management.
Competencies:
1. One-year medical office experience is required; insurance verification is a plus.
2. Must be reliable and punctual.
3. Good oral and written communication skills, ability to remain pleasant and kind with patients in all circumstances.
4. Good computer skills and ability to learn new medical software.
5. Good mathematical skills and ability to take payments and balance accounts.
6. Ability to communicate well with physician/owners and team members.
7. Ability to learn and take direction.
8. Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
9. Ability to prioritize tasks and be efficient.
