Bland is seeking an Assistant Project Director responsible for technical, contractual, administrative, financial, and any other aspects of project performance for CMS’ Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) Review Contractor (RC) contract.

    • This work may be applicable for Medicaid and CHIP claims processed in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
    • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position.
    • Candidates outside of the Omaha, Nebraska area are welcome to apply as remote work is an option.
    • The work may require travel to state office locations that administer Medicaid and CHIP Programs.

Essential Performance:

      • Assist the Project Director in leading teams of project managers, subject matter experts, data analysts, IT professionals, and review staff fulfilling numerous contract deliverables, including;
        • Implementing and maintaining a document management system
        • Formulating PERM review task plans and deliverables
        • Curating a running body of documentation of all individual states’ requirements, methods, and data sources for determining claim payment amounts, including Medicaid eligibility, benefits, coverage limitations, medical necessity determinations, and claim processing.
        • Administering education and outreach with individual states ensuring timely collection of review documentation and completion of reviews
        • Conducting PERM beneficiary eligibility, claim data processing, and medical record review tasks, making informed decisions confirming the accuracy of Medicaid FFS, Medicaid managed care, and CHIP claim payment amounts
        • Ensuring adherence to program task schedules and budgets
      • Represent the firm as a point of contact for government personnel in day-to-day PERM operations
      • Initiate, support, monitor and evaluate all activities related to the PERM task order, including compliance with contract deliverables, internal and external performance requirements, and continual improvement in the absence of the Project Director.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required: 

        • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field of study (or equivalent work experience)
        • A minimum of five years project management experience demonstrating ability to provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub-tasks and the capability to manage a project of high complexity for government clients
        • Supervisory/managerial experience related to the performance of medical documentation and data reviews
        • Preferred 3 or more years’ experience working with Medicaid and/or CHIP at a state or national level, including experience with claim processing systems and/or medical review processes
        • Service in educational programs as an instructor or discussion lead
        • Strong critical thinking and decision-making capability
        • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet based applications
        • Fingerprint background check may be required
