As a part of our People Operations team, your responsibilities will cover many facets including: on-boarding, off-boarding, general HR and benefits administration and payroll support, stock administration, engagement needs, and paperwork and platform maintenance. A successful candidate will have previous HR experience and have strong communication skills, a proactive and problem-solving attitude and a customer-service spirit. This hybrid position will be supporting our corporate headquarters in-person a few times a week in Herndon, VA and will report to the Director, People Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the new hire onboarding concierge by managing pre/post hiring activities, 0-90 day orientations/check ins, and consistently delivers a first class onboarding experience. Coordinates employee and contractor systems and access with IT.
  • Perform detailed HRIS data management and reporting with a high sense of quality data control
  • Triage and answer questions from a shared inbox, issues grant awards, updates ShareWorks data and other administrative equity support as needed.
  • Oversee the recognition program administration: order gifts for employee special occasions and as part of future programming.
  • Write and ghost write internal communications and prepares People Ops PowerPoint presentations.
  • Provide compliance and policy administration support by monitoring the HR regulatory environment for applicable changes to BlackSky and debriefs People Ops Management; prepare quarterly compliance reviews PowerPoint.
  • Partner with the People & Culture team and DEI committee to help plan and manages employee events and meetings.
  • Assist recruiting team from time-to-time as needed.
  • Maintain organized HR digital files and record keeping; perform employment authorizations as needed
  • General HR Administration: assist the overall People Ops team as needed with programs, training delivery and special projects.
  • Manage the employee offboarding process including exit interviews, separation agreements, PIIA documentation completion, IT equipment return and more.
  • Provide coaching and support to teams as needed for HR processes.
  • Provide SOX support in partnership with payroll, stock/equity, and other controls.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of related HR experience.
  • HRIS experience, specifically with ADP.
  • Proficient knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in solving problems and seeking improvements, comfortable taking initiative of projects and managing from start to finish.
  • Internal customer service orientation.
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, EQ, ethics, and cultural awareness.
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and desire to improve as we grow.
  • Previous experience at a public company and partnering with legal and payroll on controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working the tech or space industry.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP.
  • ADP Workforce Now, ShareWorks and Greenhouse ATS knowledge.
