Universal Audiology at Strivright is Hiring a Remote Medical Biller

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and medical office procedures. This is a remote position, so the candidate must be able to manage their time and communicate effectively with the office staff. Knowledge of Audiology billing a plus, but not required. Training will be provided, but the candidate must be able to problem solve and learn independently.

Duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of medical documentation, including patient records, charts, and reports
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, ICD-9) to diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, appealing when necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate and timely billing processes
- Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries or concerns

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Medical Billing or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and insurance guidelines
- Proficient in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Note: All positions at our company are paid positions.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
