Black & White Zebra is Hiring a Director, Operations and Analytics Near Canada, KY

About the Role:

In this role you will be accountable for significantly enhancing our operational and analytical capabilities. Your primary focus being to provide support to our revenue operations and marketing operations functions, providing insights into current and future media and content performance, as well as administering our Business Intelligence systems and formulating operational policies and procedures to heighten productivity and ensure compliance.

In addition to the above we will look to you to work closely with our technology team to spearhead the development and management of our data lake, with a focus on integrating various production systems to establish a "single source of truth" reporting platform.

Your leadership will be crucial in building out and up-skilling the analytics and operations team to improve reporting and allow us to glean deeper insights from our data sources, align operational strategies with overall business objectives, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and cultivate a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.

Who you are:

You're an experienced professional with a track record of leveraging operations and analytics to drive business success, particularly within the B2B media, SaaS, or related industries.

You have robust analytical and problem-solving skills, that when coupled with your effective leadership and team management abilities, enable you to translate raw data into actionable insights and foster effective cross-functional collaboration within the organization. Your deep understanding of the latest trends and technologies within operations and analytics further underscores your expertise and suitability for this role.

Given our focus on content and media, prior experience working with data sets related to marketing operations, SEO and content performance would be a major plus in this role.

What you'll be doing (responsibilities):

  • Provide support to our revenue operations and marketing operations functions
  • Work with our technology team to guide our data lake strategy, connecting various production systems in order to analyze data across the business and create a “single source of truth” reporting platform
  • Administer Business Intelligence systems
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead the analytics team in gathering, interpreting, and utilizing data to inform business decisions and strategies.
  • Collaborate with different departments (e.g., editorial, sales, marketing) to align operational strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, preparing reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in operations and analytics.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations and analytics team, setting clear goals and expectations.

Your skillset includes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations and/or analytics, preferably in a B2B media, SaaS or related industry.
  • Proven track record of leading operations and analytics teams to achieve business goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficient in data analytics tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI tools).
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies in marketing and familiarity with web-based content KPIs and analytics.
Nice to haves:
  • Media publishing industry experience
  • You've been involved in a successful data lake implementation or implementing advanced data analytics and visualization tools

$140,000 - $180,000 a year

Salary Statement:

This full timeposition is available as either a remote or hybrid position based on location and offers an annual salary in the range of $140,000 to $180,000 CAD. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. This means ranges will vary for candidates based outside of Canada and/or at different seniority levels. In addition to annual salary, full time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
