Quality Inspector – Transfer (Final Inspection)

Reports to: Quality Manger

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the final inspection of products that have been completed during the manufacturing process. The employee in this position will review the weight and count of completed products in a bin/box/pallet and record the information on two daily logs described in detail below. The employee will perform final inspection on products in order to identify any nonconforming products according to Nonconforming Product Procedure of the company’s ISO 9001 program and will document inspection results on an inspection form.

Job Functions (Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform all duties with a safety first mindset
• Perform final inspection on manufactured products using all applicable drawings, work orders, measuring instruments, gages, etc. and complete/record measurements on the Transfer Checklist
• Review the weight and count of all finished products in the Transfer Area and record on Daily Transfer Form
• Mark all material with proper status (Ok or Hold) after inspection to make it clearly identifiable
• Initiate re-work process using the Internal Re-Processing Form 
• Effectively communicate inspection status of Rush items with Shipping and/or Outside Service to notify when products are approved to ship or ready to proceed to a secondary process
• Pull testing samples when applicable using the Testing Lab Sampling Form – Transfer document
• Ensure all instruments and devices used to verify dimensions of products (ring gages, calipers, micrometers, tape measures etc.) maintain proper calibration status and are cleaned regularly to ensure proper functionality
• Maintain an organized and tidy work environment
• Work closely with other members of Quality team as well as Manufacturing, Outside Services, and Shipping teams
• Use computer station to access any required documents, standards, etc.
