We are looking to hire a Logistics Manager in our Menominee, MI paper mill to develop and manage analysis methods for determining reliability of components, equipment, and processes. Job Description

BiOrigin SP is in the market for a Logistics Manager to be based in Menominee, MI. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for Distribution Systems and to obtain the maximum utilization of equipment at the lowest freight cost, consistent with customer service requirements and corporate traffic policies.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Manage all inbound and outbound freight.
• Prepare and monitor daily bill of lading documents and transactions for truck, rail and offsite warehouse shipments. Work with accounting, shipping, carriers and warehouse providers as required correcting deficiencies.
• Manage hourly shipping department, work schedule, duties, vacations. Etc.
• Responsible for processing orders and all necessary paperwork, enabling warehouse drivers to stage and complete loads.
• Monitor all in-route shipments to ensure that customer delivery requirements are being met.
• Ensure that carriers are monitored for on time and damage free deliveries.

• Ensure that the most cost-effective reliable carrier is assigned to all prepaid shipments. Drive the successful implementation of reliability improvement initiatives.
• Help develop, implement, and maintain Policies and Procedures that align with SQF requirements to maintain SQF certification. These include GMP, Food Defense, HACCP, and Food Safety.

Essential Skillset, Education/Qualification, Certification Attainment:

• High school education or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of shipping and billing procedures and Production Management System (PMS) and working knowledge of distribution functions such as load limits, rail rules and regulations. Computer skills required – Excel and JDE experience.
