Position Summary:

Embark on an exciting journey as a key contributor to the Protein Business Unit, where we support life sciences with cutting-edge research tools across various scientific domains like stem cells, cancer, neuroscience, and cell therapies. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend your passion for life sciences with collaborative business engagement.

Your role involves co-creating innovative ideas rooted in your experience, collaborating closely with customers and prospects to shape impactful business decisions. Dive into responsibilities spanning market analysis, competitive landscapes, pricing strategies, and channel management, working hand in hand with the Sales Team to optimize training and sales enablement. Immerse yourself in the market, gaining insights into challenges and collaboratively contributing to solutions and marketing efforts within the Business Unit, aligning with our overarching company strategy.

We value a candidate who brings expertise in both life sciences and product management, utilizing these skills to collaboratively shape the strategic direction of the business and foster growth.

Effective communication is key, encompassing all facets of the company and the marketplace, including Executive Management, Business Development, Marketing Communications, Sales, Technical Service, Product Development, Operations, Finance, Regulatory and QA/QC, as well as interactions with customers and purchasing agents. As a central figure for the protein product line, you'll play a pivotal role as a collaborative expert, influencing its use and positioning. Key Responsibilities:

  • Be an expert regarding all aspects of the protein product line from the conception of new products to discontinuations. Provide input at all stages of the product life cycle.

    • Discuss the product line in detail with customers and provide relevant feedback to drive the product pipeline and assist with business decisions.

    • Monitor, analyze, and report on performance of the product line.

    • Understand the buying journey in order to drive improvements in customer experience.

    • Drive the overall marketing strategies to align with corporate objectives, gain market share, and measure success.

    • Measure effectiveness of new product launches.

    • Train and mentor team members on defined procedures and practices.

    • Recognize lucrative new areas and evaluate roadmaps for product development to spur organic growth.

    • Recognize external opportunities for growth and manage business to business interactions.

    • Effectively communicate with customers about scientific concepts.

    • Understand the needs of both research customers and customers with clinical applications.

Qualifications


Education and Experience:

  • • BS in a Biological Science required, advanced degree preferred

    • Financial acumen desired, MBA preferred

    • Minimum of 5 years Product Management or related in the biotech or life sciences industry

    • Relevant laboratory or technical experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comfort with complex topics in biological sciences.

    • Aptitude in product/customer/sales/ financial analysis that will lead to defining successful strategies and launching outstanding products.

    • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions to drive the business forward

    • Identifies and invites stakeholders to join project/process. Seeks to surface the best ideas and arrive at a path forward through dialog, exploratory questions, and collaboration with others.

    •Understanding of SalesForce and it’s uses for gathering intelligence and opportunity monitoring.

    •Familiarity with Power Bi and SalesForce is a plus.

    • Prioritize activities/requests for the best business outcome

    • Clear oral and written presentation skills, enabling professional communication across all layers of the organization
