The Administrative Assistant II for the President's office:

This individual will ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the daily operations of the President's office and is responsible for coordinating multiple, complex priorities in a demanding, sometimes fast paced environment. As an integral member of the President's office, the person in this position reports to the Chief of Staff and works closely with the Executive Assistant to the President and other members of the President's Office staff.

This individual will deal with highly confidential information and must possess and demonstrate professional discretion at all times. The individual must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to speak, write and communicate in confident and professional manner. The individual must have the ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks as well as to analyze and organize information and materials for a variety of projects. The individual must have excellent people skills and be able to provide a service in a friendly and competent manner whether on the phone answering calls into the President's Office or greeting guests and visitors in person in the reception area.

This individual will assist the President's Office with the following tasks including but not limited to; daily office operations including answering phones, greetings guests, scheduling meetings for various President's Office staff, paying bills, supporting events, tracking and ordering supplies, tracking and managing memberships and subscriptions, as well as scheduling and assisting with the agenda, minutes and coordination of Binghamton Council meetings. This individual will also have a lead role in assisting with coordination and communication efforts related to the annual SEFA campaign.


Job Requirements:


Non-competitive:
Administrative Assistant II civil service position; no civil service test is required for appointment to this position.

Five years executive-level secretarial experience required.

Associates degree desirable.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and organizational skills are required.

Ability to analyze, problem solve, prioritize and organize information.

Must be comfortable with frequent change and possess the ability to perform under pressure and deadlines.

Must be comfortable with paying bills utilizing both the state system and foundation account approval process.

Must be excel proficient and able to utilize University systems to mail merge communications targeting individuals across campus.
