OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

BikeHub is a small, Bay-Area-based company, focused on supporting bicycle commuters and anyone who uses bikes as transportation. Our BART Bike Stations are a project by BART and the city to provide free, secure public bicycle parking. BikeHub’s repair business and retail sales help offset operating costs.

We’re hiring for an Operations Coordinator. This is a full-time job, averaging 40 hours a week. Work is usually between 7am and 7pm on weekdays. Compensation is $68,000 annually, and benefits include:

About the Operations Coordinator position

The Operations Coordinator will lead BikeHub’s bike parking and retail sales operations, coordinating and performing remote customer support, retail management (online and in-store), managing the web and digital tools for scheduling and coordination of locations and staff, and filling in as necessary at retail locations. The Operations Coordinator is expected to have strong client communication skills, proficiency in digital environments and organization, multi-tasking and adherence to deadlines, and scheduling flexibility.

This position will be a combination of desk work, retail shifts, and on-the-field site work in the East Bay, San Francisco, on the peninsula and occasionally as far as Sacramento. Most of the travel can be done by public transit but there will be some driving. It will require occasional evening and weekend work, sometimes on short notice. The position is tasked with managing the day-to-day operations at a wide range of facilities:

  • 4 staffed secure bike parking locations
  • unattended secure bike parking locations
  • new locations as we expand

Ongoing Tasks

  • Retail and customer support
  • Manage retail operations (ecommerce, website management, Lightspeed management).
  • Coordinate staff fill-ins and auditing support
  • Primary fill-in for mechanics, auditors, and valets as required
  • Tech support
  • Confidently provision and maintain retail IT equipment: desktop computers, internet & phone, alarm & camera systems
  • Proficiency setting up and using software / cloud software management, POS systems
  • Field operations, emergency response and fill-in duties
  • Respond to emergency on-site support requests
  • Provide remote and on-site support for unattended bike parking maintenance and facility issues
  • Schedule and coordinate on-site support for setup of services
  • Remote customer support
  • Primary point of contact for security monitoring and review.
  • Initiate solutions, following SOPs when available and using independent judgment when necessary
  • Monitor customer support tickets

Attributes

  • Experience as a bicycle mechanic and/or bicycle retail manager preferred

  • Able to lift and carry 30-50 pounds; bend, stoop, climb ladders
  • Comfortable working alone in interior and exterior environments
  • CA driver’s license and insurable driving record

Compensation

  • $68,000 annually
  • $350 home office reimbursement per month
  • $60 cell phone reimbursement per month
