BigThumb IT Consultants is Hiring a Tier II Help Desk Technician - Fairfax, VA (on-site) Near Fairfax, VA

BigThumb is seeking a Level 2 Tech Help Desk Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide both on-site and remote technical support to our clients, handling help desk activities and resolving tickets promptly. Additionally, you will be an integral part of our national Help Desk team, addressing technical questions and escalating issues as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to technical assistance requests in person, via phone, and electronically.

Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and perform diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware.

Identify and elevate technical and performance issues as necessary.

Initiate preventive maintenance and perform system repairs.

Ensure compliance with established IT procedures and maintain proactive communication with technical support requestors.

Log all help desk interactions with sufficient detail.

Position Requirements:

Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and a service-oriented mindset.

Proficiency in technical documentation and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Aptitude for learning new technologies.

Reliable transportation is a must.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or technical degree required.

Minimum 2-3 years of IT-related experience with MSP

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Dental office environment is a plus. Azure AD/Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server, Virtualization/VMWare, DNS, DHCP, Routing & Remote access/VPN, Exchange Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, anti-spyware products, networking concepts, wireless networking, VoIP, and backup software.

Ability to manage multiple 3rd party vendors.

Bonus experience in data center management, enterprise hardware installation & configuration.
