The Senior Application Analyst leverages advanced software development programming skills, primarily in Java, to design, develop, and enhance applications that are critical to the operations of an eCommerce website. The Developer works with Product Owners from marketing to develop web-based software in a fast-paced agile, collaborative team environment to implement solutions that provide a competitive advantage to business operations. The Developer fosters continuous improvement by contributing to coding, testing, and implementing best practices working closely with the Technical Leads and Architects in the team. The ideal candidate would be someone with a solid technical aptitude that can rapidly learn and understand an existing application’s architecture, data models, services, and usage and be able to drive out and translate current and future business requirements into our Java REST Spring service-based applications. This position joins a team of existing software development IT professionals, so effective collaboration is necessary.

• Develops and revises procedures to solve complex problems dealing with computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and the form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and documents those applications.
• Utilizes techniques for the successive phases of problem analysis. Performs the analysis, research, and resolution of production program problems. Maintains, debugs, and modifies programs.
• Under moderate supervision, collects, analyzes, and interprets data used in program development to meet the defined user requirements. Prepares detailed specifications for programs of difficult complexity, prepares development time estimates for assigned tasks, and is responsible for meeting those estimates. Updates and creates technical and user documentation.
• Codes programs of difficult complexity using recommended technologies. Follows the established methodologies and standards. Creates test data to execute all functions of the coded programs and performs integrated testing of all components in a medium-sized computer system. Executes program testing and is responsible for its accuracy and effectiveness.
• Coordinates between other IT areas to maintain maximum efficiency of application systems. Collaborates with users to obtain feedback on the effectiveness of the system.
• Researches and responds to user questions about procedures, program functions, or interdependencies/interrelationships of medium-sized systems. Works with users to improve their understanding, operating, or interdependencies/interrelationships for systems. Starts to develop a general knowledge of several business functions from the company operations perspective.
• Project administration includes understanding and developing the basic concepts and techniques for planning, organizing, and controlling all phases of a project. Organizes, directs, and assists programming efforts of others as needed. Under close supervision, would plan, organize, and control small or medium sized development projects or programs.
• Ensures standards and methodologies are followed and quality assurance review is met.
• Regularly provides guidance and training to less experienced application analysts.
• May be responsible for completion of a phase of a Project.
• Develop, deploy and support Oracle Commerce [ATG 11.3.2] application that contains a Web Storefront, Business Control Center [BCC], Experience Manager [XM], and Commerce Service Center [CSC].
• Integrate Oracle Commerce with other applications using various technologies, including Message Queues, Boomi iPaas and REST APIs.
• Perform moderate to complex programming assignments requiring an advanced understanding of established REST Java Spring service-based programs using its standards, methods, and best practices.
• Contribute to and review technical designs of software solutions
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of business strategy, operating models, and processes to identify improvement opportunities and value-added capabilities.
• Gather and interpret business requirements, create functional specifications and determine the most efficient/appropriate technologies to achieve desired outcomes.
• Work with engineers and architects in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications - External

Requirements

To join our team, you'll need the following experience:

• Bachelor's degree or MS in Engineering or equivalent 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Developer, or similar with a strong software development background in Java, Spring Boot, WebLogic / JBoss, Apache, CDN (ex. Akamai), RDBMS is a must.
• Experience designing/developing/supporting high volume 24/7 customer-facing applications is a must.
• Knowledge of source code management systems like GIT / Bitbucket
• Experience with Endeca, ATG 11 , Linux/Unix, RDBMS, and Boomi iPaas is highly desired. 
• Experience with Personalization integrations with vendors like Reflektion is nice to have.
• Previous experience with IBM Sterling Order Management System, Sterling Inventory Visibility and Sterling Inventory Promising is nice to have.
• Previous experience in a team lead role over an Engineering team is desired. 
• Knowledge of CI, CD & Automation tools like Jenkins and Ansible is desired. 
• Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; time-management skills are critical.
