Mentor Manager - North Port Community
Location: North Port, FL
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast is seeking candidates for the rewarding commuity position of Mentor Manager for our North Port location.
This role will build and support the relationships with school-aged Littles and the volunteer adult Bigs to fulfill the mission of one-to-one mentoring to help all youth reach their potential.
Summary of the skills needed to be successful in the role:
General Management:
Ability to prioritize projects, manage time effectively and ability to follow through on tasks
Ability to assess challenges and problem solve proactively
Communications:
Strong documentation skills and familiarity with case management reporting and filing
Ability to engage meaningfully and professionally with a wide variety of external audiences, in-person, by phone or email
Ability to develop relationships and partnerships in the community
Case Management:
Ability to provide match oversight and case management for children ages 6-18 and adult volunteers
Ability to assess individual needs aligned to program policies
Ability to problem solve and meet the needs of program participants – child, family and volunteers and community partners
Ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in social or human services, education, or similar field of study; or a combination of education and experience; or 4 years of relevant work experience in a related field.
Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.
Salary is based on skills and experience with a minimum starting wage of $45,000 annually.
