Mentor Case Manager - Englewood

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coastis seeking an outgoing, experienced Human Services professional twith a passion for working with youth in Englewood and the surrounding areas in the role ofMentor Manager. BBBS Sun Coast is an Agency that promotes the mentoring relationships between Bigs and Littles for the purpose of igniting the potential in each child served.

NOTE: At the present time, we do not have a physical office location in Englewood. This position will be working out of various local locations in the community, as well as occasionally going to either the North Port or Charlotte County office in Punta Gorda. It is anticipated that we will have an office space by the end of June 2024.

The primary responsibility of this position is to cultivate and create successful matches from those relationships within the community while promoting BBBS Sun Coast as the non-profit agency of choice for volunteering and supporting.

This position requires a self-driven team player who can maintain the connections in the community while developing more relationships to foster the growth to serve more youth in Englewood. This is an office of One but is strongly supported by other team members in Charlotte Cty and North Port.

Ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in social or human services, education, or similar field of study; or a combination of education and experience; or 4 years of relevant work experience in a related field.

Ability to fluently communicate in Spanish is a plus.

What are the key duties of the role?

Performs interviews and assessments for volunteer candidates, children and families for coordination of new matches

Maintains all documentation required for each case match by following established protocols in a timely manner.

Communicates with parents, children, teachers, mentors, volunteers and the community

Develops events for Big & Littles with the help of other internal departments as part of the mentoring process

Provides activities and training for Volunteer development

Follows up as required with all active matches including an annual review

Meets or exceeds all metrics set for the Mentor Manager role

Ability to identify opportunities to recruit children and volunteers for further outreach

Ability to work some evenings and weekend hours to support the activities of the matches such as interviews and events

Must have dependable transportation. Offsite meetings common.
