Key Responsibilities:

• Collections Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up with residents and their families regarding outstanding balances, ensuring prompt payment and adherence to payment terms.
• Communication and Support: Maintain open lines of communication with residents, their families, and appropriate staff members to address billing inquiries, resolve disputes, and provide assistance in understanding payment details.
• Financial Recordkeeping: Update resident financial records in the billing system accurately and promptly, documenting all relevant communications and payment transactions.
• Medicaid/Medicare Coordination: Collaborate with the Medicaid/Medicare billing team to ensure timely processing and compliance with government reimbursement programs.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status and collections activities for review by management, offering insights and recommendations as necessary.
• Assistance with Financial Planning: Support residents and families by providing information on payment plans, financial aid, and available resources to help meet financial obligations.
• Customer Service Excellence: Exhibit a compassionate and understanding approach while interacting with residents and their families, maintaining a focus on resident satisfaction and financial well-being.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in accounting, finance, or related fields is a plus.
• Experience: Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections in a senior living community or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Empathy and Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with seniors, their families, and staff members.
• Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines with a proactive approach.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and complex billing issues, effectively resolving conflicts while maintaining a positive relationship with residents and their families.
• Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with using billing software and Microsoft Office applications for data entry, reporting, and communication purposes.
• Ethical Conduct: Upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professionalism in dealing with resident financial information.
