Superintendent – Commercial
Opportunity Summary
We are hiring a Superintendent for our Commercial side of the business. As Superintendent you will collaborate and lead the team to execute and deliver quality projects on time and on budget. You will be responsible for providing overall supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- With a collaborate style, coordinate and supervise all construction activities on site
- Ensure project is constructed according to drawings, specifications, project schedule and budget
- Maintain construction schedule and identify/resolve problems as necessary and in a timely manner
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community
- Develop project master schedule with project team and ensure subcontractors comply with project master schedule
- Review and update schedule, cost forecast and cash flow with Project Manager
- Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety, progress reports, rental records, logs etc.
- Organize and hold weekly subcontractor meetings
- Be able to self-perform work as required when it is needed on the project
Experience & Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience
- 5 years supervisory and construction experience within residential, singe/family homes with Build to Rent community experience considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and authority, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements
- Proven creative problem-solving skills
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- MS Project scheduling software and Bluebeam experience with Procore an asset
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals
- Excellent relationship and team building skills with proven integrity dealing with Clients, Trades and Consultants
- Exemplary team collaboration and teambuilding capabilities
- Results driven mindset, initiative-taking, ability to deal with ambiguity as part of the growth phase, ability to analyze problems and drive solutions
- The ability to manage and motivate, including conflict resolution
