Opportunity Summary

The General Superintendent is responsible for the coaching, development of the field staff and running field operations to meet contractual agreements, budgets, and client commitments. This role will act as a liaison with clients, trades, supplies, and the community and participate within the leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

· Participate on the leadership team and aid in meeting company strategic plan, including growth into new markets.

· Managing and supporting main operations and special projects field staff in all locations coach, mentor and develop all field staff, including union staff.

· Provide lessons learned and best practices for superintendents and build action plans to address site issues in collaboration with the superintendent.

· Organizing and leading the quarterly superintendent meetings and following up on commitments post meeting.

· Providing input in pre-construction of projects (site logistics, preliminary schedules) based on your availability.

· Support field staff with trade contractors to ensure we model our values and maintain positive relationships.

· Work with superintendents to ensure compliance to the Scott QA/QC project.

· Work with project superintendents for compliance and enforcement of safety policies.

· Ensure best practices for safety and provide safety metrics to the field staff.

· Be a resource to the superintendents for workforce planning and succession bench.

· Be a resource to the superintendent for project start up and execution of work with the superintendents for compliance with reporting requirements, such as Daily log; Meeting minutes; Deficiency tracking and Rental logs.

· Support the ESG committee initiatives and ensure team is educated on importance of the committee and our ESG objectives.

· Rally team support and generate ideas that support the Company ESG objectives.

· Cascade company goals, company updates, and align team goals to achieve a successful outcome.

· Communicate the annual employee engagement survey results, create action plans, and keep alive throughout the year.

· Job duties will vary depending on projects and as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

· Education to include a technical college diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

· At least 10 years previous supervisory and construction experience working on high-rise residential, commercial, institutional and/or concrete projects with a spend of at least $20 million in the role of superintendent.

· Demonstrated ability to successfully supervise construction projects and staff.

· Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction such as: technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, scheduling, and safety requirements.

· Proven creative problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills.

· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with Procore experience an asset.

· Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations), including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals.

· Exemplary leadership skills, including strong teambuilding capabilities.

· Solid understanding of specifications, construction methods and procedure.

· Excellent relationship building skills.

· Proven integrity when dealing with Clients, Trades and Consultants.
