Scope of Job

111e Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Instructor will assist students in buildiJ1g the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide a basic, appropriate level of care to a client population. This position will report to the Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities

I .Teach the course curriculum

* Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain the CAN' license

* Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content

* Evaluate and document students' progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained

* Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, and prospective employers

* Provide a stimulating environment That encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care

* Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* Unencumbered license to practice as a Practical Nurse in the State of Florida

* Basic Life Support Certified (BLS: American Health Association)

* Two years' nursing experience and at least one year of experience in the provision of

LTC facility services in the last five (5) years

* Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a clinical setti11g

* Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.

* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations

* Excellent organizational skills

* Skilled in teaching adult learners

* Willingness to work on a flexible schedule (evenings)

* Possess strong interpersonal skills

* Ability to work independently
