Job Title: Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Reporting Structure: Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Division: Intercollegiate Athletics

Job Summary: Bethune Cookman University, Department of Athletics has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out assignments to assist in the coaching and management of the Women’s Basketball Team and program and well as the help and assistant of the head coach of the program.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of the women’s basketball program; provides opportunities that challenge and support student-athletes to reach their full potential;
Support student-athlete academic and athletic excellence, leadership development and community engagement;
Adheres to and enforces all policies and procedures of the department and the University, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, SAWC Conference, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program;
Assist in team development including establishing goals, objectives, and values for the program consistent with mission of Athletics Department;
Assists in motivating student-athletes to perform to maximum levels;
Assists with the conditioning and training of team members in conjunction with the training; unit to ensure that student-athletes are physically prepared for competition;
Utilizes sound teaching techniques in the preparation of games and practices.
Assist in organization of various aspects of the program to include but not limited to Travel, gear, scouting, recruiting, academics, scheduling, and other day to day responsibilities as assigned by the head coach.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 3-5 years of playing or collegiate coaching experience; The successful candidate must possess proven knowledge of and a commitment to adherence to NCAA rules.

Work is performed indoors and outdoors with exposure to extreme weather elements. Constant talking, hearing, seeing, walking, standing, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting. Occasional running, sitting, and use of personal computer. Frequent travel out of state either by motor vehicle or airlines. Exposure to weather elements when walking from building to building on campus.
