Our Leadership team brings decades of experience to the Social Services field. Bethesda offers the highest wages for Residential direct care workers in the area and a very competitive benefit package. All of our staff are well trained and work with our youth utilizing a trauma informed care approach. Bethesda’s Residential living units also emphasize a trauma informed treatment environment utilizing a smaller group setting, with treatment programs ranging from 6 youth to a maximum population of 10 youth per living units.
Bethesda’s residential environment has great amenities on our 365 acres. Youth have opportunities to participate in treatment activities at our movie theater, heated in ground pool, two gymnasiums, volleyball courts and a dirt bike program
Our residential programs are located on our beautiful campus in Meadville PA, but we welcome and highly encourage applicants from Erie County.
Job Summary
Provide youth who have been placed in the residential program with positive role modeling, guidance through routines, behavior management, and skills to enable youth to succeed in the therapeutic environment provided by the agency. This position will seek to ensure trauma-informed care and the creation and maintenance of a trauma-informed environment on the unit.
Essential Functions of the Position:
1. Model and supervise youth in a variety of areas including coping skills, anger
management, and character development.
2. Facilitate groups with the youth that are relevant to the needs of the program such as educational, recreational, and therapeutic.
3. Coordinate unit day-to-day routines for youth and follow clinical schedule.
4. Develop weekly therapeutic task sheets for assigned youth.
5. Supervise the youth documenting day to day routines and behaviors in progress notes and the log book.
6. Assist youth by providing educational support such as tutoring.
7. Manage youth’s medication according to residential policy and procedure.
8. Maintain safety by using behavior management techniques according to policy.
9. Assist with reports, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
10. Attend treatment reviews and team meetings on youth.
11. Provide verbal and/or written documentation at court hearings.
12. Assure Client/Staff ratio is maintained.
