Job Description Position: Youth Engagement Coordinator

Classification: Exempt

Reports to: CEO

Description: The Youth Engagement Coordinator works in cooperation with individuals and groups in the community to determine the needs of children and youth. He/she is responsible for developing programs and strategies to address the identified needs. The coordinator also manages and supervises work experience opportunities.

He/she seeks to increase the number of active participants, engage the broader community, increase parent involvement, and assist in fundraising.

This position will work to ensure programs and activities are consistent with the mission and goals of the organization and contribute to robust and quality programming.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the CEO in developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive program.
• Provide leadership for the Youth and Government (YAG) program by coordinating and overseeing all related activities.
• Oversee family Involvement activities and fundraising efforts.
• Oversee enrollment and application process involving program registration, TANF, CAP, YAG, YAB and other related programs
• Assist with the coordination and training of youth participating in the Leadership Development Training program.
• Assist with all aspects of marketing and communications
• Assist with data collection and entry
• Provide direction and leadership for the YLI’s Board Marketing and Public Relations Committee by assisting with the development and coordination of the committee and its activities.
• Assess program needs and develop new programming initiatives.
• Act as a youth advocate, providing guidance and appropriate referrals to youth seeking assistance.
• Assist with youth registration and new youth orientation.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with base and community partners.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of two a (2) year degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Youth Leadership Institute of Erie and its program partners.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collegially with staff and faculty.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute complex events.
• Excellent leadership, organization, interpersonal, and oral/written/presentations skills.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of youth development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
