JOB OVERVIEW

An Assistant General Manager, you would be a valued member of the hotel leadership team, responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and efficient operation and profitability of the hotel by supervising operating departments in the absence of the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• This position will serve as the hotels primary afternoon Manager On Duty
• Direct and oversee the functionality in the daily operations of the property including Front Office, Housekeeping and Food and Maintenance departments
• Conduct daily hotel inspections
• Monitor and enhance team member productivity
• Direct daily department operations including, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, inventory management, and cost controls, systems use and management, budgeting, and forecasting, adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation.
• Financial Management – meet or exceed budgeted profit margins
• Quality Control – adhere to Best Western Quality Assurance guidelines
• Lead and develop associate performance by providing supervision and professional development, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition
• Recruit, interview and train team members
• Written commination skills to be concise, well organized, complete and clear
• Maintain a positive, productive, professional attitude and appearance in dealing with all other departments in the hotel
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
• Able and willing to assist in the hotel operations when needed
• Able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2 years of experience in the hotel industry required; managerial experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills
• Extensive knowledge of hotel and hospitality industry
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Understanding of group and transient sales process and forecasting procedures
• Detail-oriented professional

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Shift:

• Day shift

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
