Best Western Plus Wilkes Barre-Scranton Airport Hotel is Hiring a Night Auditor Near Pittston, PA

The brand New CANDLEWOOD SUITES PITTSTON is hiring both full time and part time Night Auditors.

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for conducting all nightly audit-related duties while operating the hotel’s front desk systems for PBX, reservations, and check-in/check-out, in addition to providing information on extended stay facilities and services. Ensuring adherence to Company standards for quality, cleanliness, guest satisfaction, and safety and security is paramount.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Work Objectives

• Process guest registrations, including the computation and collection of payment, while also providing information about extended stay amenities and services.

• Complete and verify all audit paperwork and shift reports, including specific data related to extended stay guests and their needs.

• Process all financial transactions, including the verification and processing of credit card transactions, with a focus on extended stay billing and invoicing procedures.

• Perform nightly balancing of marketplace and long-distance telephone services, ensuring accurate posting to the property management system, and conduct nightly backup of server, including data related to extended stay bookings.

• Prepare express checkout folios, ensuring accurate charges and extended stay rates are applied.

• Maintain room status inventory, including tracking extended stay reservations and requests.

• Communicate all pertinent shift information to the General Manager and other desk staff, including updates on extended stay guest preferences and requirements.

• Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel services, reservations, attractions, directions, and extended stay facilities and amenities.

• Send and receive telephone calls and facsimiles, sorting incoming mail and messages, with attention to extended stay guest communications.

• Conduct night audit as assigned, with a focus on extended stay billing procedures and guest satisfaction.

  • Clean and sanitize public areas as needed. Including lobby, fitness center, stairwells, and hallways.
  • Ensure rubbish and debris are disposed of in the proper manner.

• Perform any duty as assigned by the General Manager, including assisting with extended stay guest services and requests.

Guest Satisfaction

• Respond to guest needs, special requests, and complaints as needed, providing personalized service tailored to extended stay guest requirements.

• Process guest invocations of 100% satisfaction guarantee, ensuring extended stay guests are satisfied with their accommodations and services.

• Smile, acknowledge, and greet guests at the front desk and other public areas, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for extended stay guests.

Teamwork

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, accommodating the needs of extended stay guests.

• Assist other employees in various assignments, including providing support for housekeeping duties specific to extended stay accommodations.

Laundry Functions

• Assist with laundry functions as needed, including receiving dirty linens from housekeeping staff and separating them by type, including regular laundry and specialty items such as kitchen towels and bedding from extended stay rooms.

• Monitor and maintain adequate supply of linens and cleaning materials for housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring availability for both short-term and extended stay guests.

• Follow all safety and OSHA regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals, and adherence to laundry procedures specific to extended stay accommodations.

_ Safety and Security_

• Perform work duties in accordance with Company safety and security policies and procedures, including those related to extended stay guest privacy and security.

• Report and store lost-and-found items in accordance with hotel procedures, ensuring the safekeeping of belongings for extended stay guests.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in the service industry is preferred but not required, with specific knowledge of extended stay hotel operations beneficial.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficiency in the use of common Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to navigate property management systems used for extended stay bookings.

• Operation of basic office machines, such as copiers, faxes, and printers, with an understanding of extended stay guest billing systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for interacting with a diverse range of personalities, including extended stay guests with specific needs and preferences.

• Sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive information related to extended stay bookings and guest requests.

• Capacity to work under pressure, prioritize multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities, with a focus on meeting the needs of extended stay guests.

• Ability to work with sensitive and confidential material, including extended stay guest information and billing details.

• Valid, current, and non-probationary driver’s license if required to operate hotel shuttle/van, facilitating transportation for extended stay guests.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, often for a minimum of 8 hours at a time, accommodating the needs of extended stay guests during check-in and check-out procedures.

• Maneuvering through all areas of the front office, including extended stay guest suites and common areas, to assist with guest inquiries and requests.

• Lifting to 20 pounds and carrying up to 10 pounds, as needed to assist with luggage and guest belongings during check-in and check-out processes.

• Bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, and gripping items while working at the assigned desk area, including retrieving, and processing extended stay reservations and paperwork.

• Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10-key adding machine, PC computers, fax machines, and photocopiers, to manage extended stay billing and administrative tasks.

• Adaptability to changing priorities and the ability to complete multiple assignments despite interruptions, with a focus on maintaining excellent service for extended stay guests.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
