(BVTI) is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) who is looking to identify a motivated and customer-oriented Lead Systems Engineer to join our high-caliber team supporting our federal customer in the Intelligence Community. The work is challenging and offers an environment that is filled with great opportunities and for professional growth. This high-profile, long-term contract lends support to the technical environment required to securely support the customer's needs in the acquisition process. The ideal candidate will provide direction and support for the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all IT systems in a Windows and Linux environment. Support will include managing day-to-day IT operations, monitoring and problem-solving resolutions for the multiple systems that are located onsite. The Lead Systems Engineer will also configure, manage and install/load operating system software while continually troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, patching and configuring server components and implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within a team consisting of network specialists, systems administrators, and information system security officers.
- Coordinate with sub-contractors who provide high level professional support and with vendors for external services.
- Experience implementing security-related software patches in response to Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA).
- Monitor and manage user access to various IT resources.
- Configure and install various IT systems (e.g., Windows Server 2019, RHEL, vulnerability scanning and monitoring tools, WSUS, Windows Defender and NetApp).
- Configure and manage high availability systems.
- Continually support the administration team with everything from accomplishing daily tasks to scheduling and implementing installations, upgrades, patches, maintenance and troubleshooting in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure integrity of data recoverability by performing regular system backups, file transfers and offsite backup transportation, storage and retrieval services.
- Provide set up and troubleshooting of desktop/server peripherals (including software and OS) and ensure customer satisfaction by quickly resolving time-sensitive problems and documenting resolutions.
- Experience providing Video Teleconference (VTC) support and troubleshooting issues of moderate complexity.
Required Education and Experience:
- 7-10 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Education:
- Experience as a Data Transfer Officer is a huge plus.
- Bachelors in an IT relevant career path.
- Any of the following certifications would be a plus:
- CompTIA Server Certification
- CompTIA Security Certification
- CompTIA Network Certification
- CompTIA Linux Certification
